The Autodesk LandXplorer products represent a powerful software system for the management and visualization of geovirtual 3D city models and 3D landscape models.
|
- Autodesk LandXplorer Studio Professional provides substantial import and conversion functionality to create these models and seamlessly integrates different types and sources of 2D and 3D geodata.
- Autodesk LandXplorer Studio Professional enables users to interactively present, explore, and analyze the resulting geovirtual 3D environments even in the case of massive geodata.
- Autodesk LandXplorer Studio Professional facilitates the presentation of complex 3D geoinformation and provides a wide range of export functionality to map geo contents to different media and formats.

A fundamental component of Autodesk LandXplorer’s geovirtual 3D models represents digital terrain models, which are specified by digital height models encoded as raster data. On top of the digital terrain model, additional geodata can be integrated, which originates from common raster, vector, and 3D data formats. In this way spatial and geo-referenced information can be combined and seamlessly visualized, for example aerial photography, cadastral maps, or landuse plans.
Autodesk LandXplorer Studio Professional supports, in addition to GIS and 3D formats, CityGML, the future OGC standard for exchanging city model data. The document structure is preserved when importing a CityGML data set, so that the object hierarchy and object attributes can be viewed, edited, and processed by the integrated CityGML browser.
Autodesk LandXplorer Studio Professional offers several 3D and 2D navigation modes which help to explore geovirtual environments and to maintain intuitive navigation. By creating visual bookmarks, important locations can be marked and directly accessed later on. In addition to the interactive navigation, it is also possible to define camera paths, which can be activated or recorded automatically as video at a later time.
The Autodesk LandXplorer Studio is available in two versions:
